REPORT: Investigations ongoing in Daher al-Baydar's explosion

Investigations are still ongoing on Saturday to reveal the identity of the suicide bomber who blew himself up at a security checkpoint in Lebanon's Daher al-Baydar on Friday.

Investigations are focusing on the car used in the explosion, while investigators found at the explosion site a car plate belonging to a Land Cruse car.

Meanwhile, security measures are still being implemented across several regions amid reports stating that bomb-laden vehicles will be used in future terrorist attacks.

Also, tight security measures are being implemented outside the Directorates of the Internal Security Forces and General Security in Beirut, as well as near the Roumieh prison.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a security checkpoint in Lebanon's Daher al-Baydar in the Eastern Bekaa Valley on Friday, leaving at least 1 person killed, an ISF member, and up to 32 wounded, the health ministry said.

The checkpoint is situated on the main highway joining Lebanon and Syria's capitals, in an area where Sunni Muslim militants fighting to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have been active.
