Mikati says will call cabinet to convene soon - [REPORT]
Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Friday that he will call for a cabinet meeting soon after more than a month of political paralysis.
 
"We have entered into a very large inflation as a result of the accumulation of years of subsidies, and frankly, our wishes today are to return to the subsidy policy, but we are unable to do so because the funds are not available." Mikati said after a meeting with the labor union.
 
On another note, Mikati said that the government will begin as of next month to register the families in need, explaining that the amounts to help these families are secured by the World Bank.
 
“The process will be electronic as there will be no human intervention, and we will not accept anyone benefiting at the expense of another,” he added.
 
Mikati concluded by saying that workers in the public sector will receive an additional half of salary for the months of November and December.
