Marada's Frangieh opposes general Christian consensus, securing cabinet quorum
Despite the broader Christian consensus, which included the FPM, the Lebanese Forces, the Kataeb, independent MPs, and in the forefront of all of these, the church Bkerki, Marada maintained the quorum of the caretaker government meeting through its two ministers.

The Christian consensus refused to violate the constitution by convening caretaker cabinet meetings in the absence of a president of the republic, yet Marada has maintained a quorum.

This split combined sectarian and political alignments. One side successfully pushed the general Christian sentiment against those participating in this unconstitutional session.

On the other hand, another side, by covering the holding of a cabinet meeting in light of a presidential vacancy and a caretaker government, has succeeded in ‘scoring a goal’ against President Aoun and MP Bassil, but on the other hand, lost the general Christian sentiment by devoting himself to be the candidate of the Muslim element, specifically the Amal-Hezbollah duo, and PM Najib Mikati.

In conclusion, if Mikati reiterated the call for cabinet meetings in light of the ongoing presidential vacancy, which voice will prevail over the other:

The voice of Bkerki and the Christian forces opposing the practices of the third presidency and its supporters, or will the Amal-Hezbollah-Frangieh-Mikati alliance succeed and impose its management of the crisis and the nation, even if it means upsetting any political, social, or religious balance in the Christian community?
