REPORT: Stances following the registration of first civil marriage contract in Lebanon

The civil marriage contract of Nidal Darwiche and Kholoud Succariyeh has become officially registered at the records of the directorate general of personal status by Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel.        

In this context, Caretaker Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi said that he recognizes the intensity of the opposition that he will face adding that the civil marriage file will no longer be set aside.                                  

This report will examine various stances triggered by the registration of the first civil marriage contract in Lebanon.
