Putin issues decree to boost troop numbers by 15 percent

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree to increase the number of military forces by 15 percent in a move the army says is due to 'threats' associated with the situation in Ukraine.

The army statement mentioned that 'the increase in the permanent strength of the army is due to the growing threats to our country, associated with the special military operation and the continuous expansion of the NATO alliance.’
