Kremlin says replacing Ukrainian army commander will not change war's course

The Kremlin stated on Friday that the replacement of the Ukrainian army commander would not affect the course of the war between Moscow and Kyiv, which has been ongoing for nearly two years.

This comes after the dismissal of General Valerii Zaluzhnyi and the appointment of Army Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi as his successor.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, "We do not believe that this move is a significant factor in the course of the military operation," referring to Russia's invasion that began in February 2022, emphasizing that the assault "will continue until its specified objectives are achieved."
