UN: Police intervention 'disproportionate' against US university protests

The United Nations has expressed "concern" over the "disproportionate" measures taken by US police to disperse pro-Palestinian protesters at several universities and dismantle their erected tents, in a statement issued on Tuesday in Geneva.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, expressed his concern "over some of the actions taken by law enforcement forces across several universities, which appear disproportionate in their impact."
