Earthquake of magnitude 6 strikes Philippines' Samar region: GFZ

An earthquake of magnitude 6 struck the Samar region of the ⁠Philippines on Monday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 ⁠miles), the GFZ said.

The Philippine seismology agency, Phivolcs, said ⁠damage and aftershocks were expected from ⁠the tremor.
