Sit-in outside Justice Ministry on International Day in Support of Victims of Torture
The relatives of detainees in Syrian prisons and Roumieh prison held a sit-in on Tuesday outside the Ministry of Justice to mark the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. Protestors called for a “preventive mechanism” to prevent torture and tighten punishment for perpetrators. They also called for the criminalization of domestic violence and sectarian speech.

Protestors called for the formation of a national committee to investigate the fate of the missing people, release the 11 Lebanese hostages in Aleppo and discuss with the Syrian authorities the fate of the detainees in Syrian prisons since the 70s and the 80s.
