From Syria to Lebanon, the tragedy continues
The bullets and shells that fell on the Syrian town of al-Qassir, destroying houses and buildings, led a large number of residents to flee towards plains of Masharii al-Qaa, where their houses are tents unable to protect them from the heat of the Bekaa sun.

Rahab, one of the girls who fled with their families to Masharii al-Qaa, hides her face in her mother’s lap, having hard time to forget the sound of the rockets that destroyed her house and the calls for help of her relatives and neighbors who died during the offensive. For her part, the mother has no clue as to what to tell her daughter concerning the source and cause of the shelling. She told LBCI that she came to Lebanon with her family about four months ago, “we really work here” she said.

All Syrian refugees who cannot afford to rent apartments, or hotel rooms agree on the fact that “everything is temporary and they will be returning to Syria, to their ruined houses”.
