Charbel reviews cooperation plan between security agencies against terrorism

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel discussed on Thursday the plan of cooperation between security agencies in the fight against terrorism, stressing that the said plan mainly aims at preventing car bomb attacks.

He noted that the security apparatuses and the Lebanese army are chasing and detecting terrorist groups that are suspected to be preparing car bombs and firing rockets.

During a meeting held at the Interior Ministry, Charbel pointed out that the cooperation between the security apparatuses is based on adopting a Preventive Security Policy aiming at protecting the country and the people from various dangers.

The meeting was attended by the Internal Security Forces head Major General Ibrahim Basbous, the head of the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau Colonel Imad Othman, General Security head Major General Abbas Ibrahim and several officers.

Lebanon has been witnessing security tensions, mainly due to the conflict in neighboring Syria.
