Price of bread bundle increases

With the increase in the price of wheat globally, and the issuance of a new fuel price schedule, LBCI obtained information saying that the price of a small bundle of bread increased 2000 Lebanese pounds, to become 9000 Lebanese pounds, and medium-sized also increased 2000 Lebanese pounds, to become 15000 Lebanese pounds, while the big bread bundle was discontinued.

Minister of Economy indicated that the decision to increase the price of bread bundles was made in response to the rapid rise in the US dollar exchange rate and after a careful examination of the cost of the bread's components.

He also added that there is a willingness to issue a weekly price schedule or according to the changes in the exchange rate of the US dollar.
