REPORT: Cabinet to be formed in upcoming few days - Sources

Sources following up on the cabinet formation process reported on Friday that a new government may be formed in the upcoming two days.

The sources told LBCI that Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam are working on a national unity formula based on the rotation of governmental portfolios.

The sources also mentioned that a certain political faction suggested giving the Ministry of Energy to a minister from the Change and Reform Bloc; however, the Future Bloc called for granting the Ministry of Interior to the former Chief of the Internal Security Forces Major General Ashraf Rifi; a matter that raised the ire of Hezbollah, and halted the formation of the cabinet.
