Arab Tawhid Party leader former Minister Wiam Wahhab said on Friday via his twitter account that any Lebanese candidate for the presidency, except for head of Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun and al-Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Frangieh, "who does not visit Syria's Presidential Palace  will have no chance at all in winning the presidential elections."

President Michel Sleiman's six-year term ends in May, but there are fears that disputes between March 8 and 14 camps would lead to a vacuum in the country's top post.

As for the Syrian crisis, Wahhab called on the Syrian people to expel United Nations-Arab League peace mediator Lakhdar Brahimi should he attempt to visit Syria again.

On Thursday, U.N.-Arab League peace mediator Lakhdar Brahimi warned that the Syrian opposition will probably not be interested in pursuing any peace talks with the government if it goes ahead with an election highly likely to secure a new term for Assad, whose family has ruled Syria for 44 years.

No one in the opposition has announced an intention to challenge Assad in elections that are due to be held by July.
