Mahfoud to LBCI: approve the scale or face a general a strike

Head of the private schools teachers association Nehme Mahfoud criticized the government’s "stalling and deferment" of what it a vital issue, calling on ministers and other related officials to bear responsibility and deem their credibility viable before the Lebanese public opinion through the immediate approval of the ranks and salaries scale affective as of the fist of July 2012.

In a call with Nharkom Said on LBCI Wednesday, Mahfoud warned of a general strike to paralyze the entire country on Thursday should the system remain unapproved.

“We are not strike enthusiasts, on the contrary, we hope for the best for our students throughout this academic year – however, our rights must be met” Mahfoud said in his final remarks
