Jbara to LBCI: Reducing drug subsidies encourages us to come in larger quantities
Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Importers head Karim Jbara confirmed on Wednesday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI that “shipments of medicines for cancer treatments arrive every week, but the important thing is to secure them every month.”
 
He mentioned that “a regulatory framework must be established between the 5 concerned parties in addition to the management of the Health Minister.”
 
Jbara also pointed out that “a mechanism for dispensing chronic disease drugs was launched by the Health Minister yesterday,” saying that “some people were able to secure medicines from abroad, but medicines for incurable diseases were a priority.”
 
“The stockpile of the Ministry of Health in Karantina is empty or nearly empty, but we will try to replenish it by this week,” he added.
