Lebanese Army repositions forces in South amid escalating Israeli attacks

The Lebanese Army announced that its units have carried out a repositioning and redeployment operation involving several formations stationed in southern border areas, in response to the escalating Israeli offensive.

In a statement, the army said the move was necessary due to the increasing risk of units being encircled, isolated, and cut off from supply lines as hostilities intensify.

Despite the redeployment, the army stressed that it continues to stand by residents to the extent possible, maintaining a soldier presence in a number of affected towns.

The military also said Israeli attacks are ongoing and do not distinguish between soldiers and civilians across various regions.

It warned against incitement and efforts by some media outlets and social media platforms to undermine confidence in the armed forces, noting that such narratives could have negative repercussions for civilians and fuel internal tensions.

The army emphasized that it is exerting maximum efforts to fulfill its duties within available capabilities, amid mounting pressure and significant challenges driven by the current circumstances.
