Netanyahu and Katz order strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs following ceasefire violations: Joint statement

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement ordering the Israeli army to carry out strikes on what they described as “terrorist targets” in Beirut’s southern suburb.

The statement said the decision followed what it called repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon by Hezbollah and attacks against Israeli cities and civilians.

It added that the Israeli army were instructed to respond by targeting infrastructure linked to Hezbollah in the area.
