Iran Guards say two oil tankers on fire after hitting mines in Hormuz

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Wednesday that two oil tankers caught fire after striking mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz outside a route designated by Iranian forces.

In a statement, the Guards said the oil tankers sought "at the urging of the U.S. military to transit via an illegal route" in the strait before "striking mines and exploding," adding that they "are currently on fire."
