REPORT: Assir’s family members confirm validity of voice recording

Friends, followers and close family members including one of Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir’s wives repeatedly listened to the voice recording released Thursday on the internet allegedly by the hardline Sunni cleric.                        

According to their account, the voice in the sample is indeed that of al-Assir’s.                      

In their words, he voiced their plight clearly, dismissing rumors that he had been killed in the Abra battles along the way.                    

The audio recording, as per the said listeners may have come in line with heightened security measures on his person especially if physical modifications to his look had been made in line with safety procedures.                 

“He will only appear in both audio and video when his appearance regains its form,” they said.               

This report will examine the stances of those close to Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir in the wake of the audio recording released last night.
