REPORT: Patriarch Rai visits newly elected Mufti, calls for supporting military institution

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai stated on Tuesday that Lebanon is facing a great challenge manifested in protecting its common religious cultures.

Patriarch Rai stressed the necessity of cooperating with civil society institutions in order to protect Lebanon from prevalent injustices.

While visiting newly elected Grand Mufti of the Republic Abdel Latif Derian, Patriarch Rai highlighted the importance of respecting the constitution and electing a new president, calling on all Lebanese factions to support both the military institution and the security forces.
