REPORT: Parliamentary committee granted 1 month to draft new electoral law
A committee tasked with drafting a new electoral law for the parliamentary elections convened on Monday in Ain el-Tineh under the chairmanship of House Speaker Nabih Berri.

Following the meeting, Deputy Robert Ghanem stated that the committee was granted a period of one month to draft a new law on the basis of proportionality.

In this regard, MP Sami Gemayel told LBCI that the one-month period to agree on a new law has commenced today, stressing that after this period, the parliament will hold a legislative session to discuss previously proposed draft laws.

Prior to the meeting, MP Alain Aoun delivered to Speaker Berri a written letter from Change and Reform Bloc Leader MP Michel Aoun related to the electoral law.
