FIBA postpones games in groups C and D of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers scheduled for Monday

FIBA has issued a statement regarding the Asian Qualifiers games scheduled for Monday, March 2.

The statement read, "In light of the developments today in the region, FIBA has decided to postpone all games in groups C and D of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers that were scheduled for Monday, March 2.

The impacted games are:

Group C: Iran vs. Syria, Iraq vs. Jordan
Group D: Lebanon vs. India, Qatar vs. Saudi Arabia

FIBA remains in close contact with the National Federations concerned and is taking the necessary measures regarding the safety and security of teams, officials, and staff involved in those games.

The aforementioned Group C and Group D games will take place at the same locations at the beginning of the third Qualification Window, set for late June. The updated schedule will be communicated at a later stage."
