Israeli cabinet to discuss Lebanon ceasefire amid US request, says fire won’t stop while Hezbollah attacks continue: Israeli media

Israel’s public broadcaster reported that the political-security cabinet is set to discuss a potential ceasefire on the Lebanon front during a meeting later on Wednesday, following a request from the United States.

According to the broadcaster, the American call for a ceasefire is being viewed as a gesture of goodwill toward Lebanon while negotiations continue.

Citing an Israeli source, the report added that hostilities will not stop as long as Hezbollah continues its attacks.

The source added that Israel has rejected Washington’s request for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon.
