Mitri: Lebanon agreed with UN rights body to send mission to country

Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri announced that the Lebanese government, through the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, agreed weeks ago with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to send a mission to Lebanon.

In a post on X, Mitri said: “This will happen soon.”

He added that Lebanon has requested a special session during the upcoming U.N. Human Rights Council meeting.

Mitri also said Lebanese ministers will present reports on Israeli violations during upcoming meetings of several international organizations.

He added: “The documentation process, supported by legal studies, is also continuing in a way that strengthens Lebanon’s position in international forums.”
