Israeli military says it struck Hezbollah command center in Beirut’s southern suburbs

The Israeli military said it carried out a precise strike on what it described as a Hezbollah command center in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday afternoon.

The military said the targeted facility was used by Hezbollah members to plan attacks against Israeli civilians and forces operating in southern Lebanon.

The strike followed earlier rocket fire launched by Hezbollah toward Israel earlier in the day, according to the Israeli military.

Israel said it would not allow attacks on its territory or communities and would continue operations to eliminate what it described as threats to Israeli civilians and forces.

The military added that precautionary measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance prior to the strike.
