US seizes oil tanker linked to Iran in Indian Ocean

The United States seized an oil tanker linked to Iran in the Indian Ocean overnight, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing three U.S. officials.

The report said the tanker, named “Sky Wave,” had been sanctioned by the United States in March for its role in transporting Iranian oil, and was believed to have loaded more than one million barrels of crude from Iran’s Kharg Island in February.

Reuters said it was not immediately able to verify the report.
