Merz meets Macron in first foreign trip as German chancellor: AFP

Germany's new Chancellor Friedrich Merz met France's President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday on his first official trip abroad, AFP journalists said.

Merz vowed to take office on Tuesday to be "a very European chancellor" and is headed to Poland later in the day.
