General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim met on Wednesday with Minister of Energy Walid Fayyad at the ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, Ibrahim briefed Fayyad on the outcomes of Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s latest visit to Iraq.

Mikati, according to the General Security chief, asked Iraq during his visit to transmit the agreed gas shipments to Lebanon more intensively and on a regular and periodic basis.

Ibrahim also noted that the Lebanese side requested that the signed contract be extended.
