Aoun, Salam discuss Lebanon-Israel talks and regional developments

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at Baabda Palace, where the two leaders held talks on the latest developments and the current situation.

Discussions focused on the negotiations launched at the U.S. State Department between the Lebanese, American, and Israeli delegations, in light of the directives given to the Lebanese delegation during preparations for the talks. Aoun and Salam agreed to closely follow the negotiations through ongoing coordination and communication.

The two leaders also agreed to hold a Cabinet session next week.

During the meeting, Salam briefed Aoun on the outcome of his recent visit to Syria at the head of a ministerial delegation and the talks he held with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, as well as meetings between Lebanese ministers and their Syrian counterparts.

Salam said the atmosphere of the talks was positive and that both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation across various sectors. He added that ministers from both countries would remain in contact to follow up on the implementation of the issues discussed.
