Israeli army strikes inactive nuclear reactor in Arak, Iran: Avichay Adraee

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced on X that the Israeli military struck an inactive nuclear reactor in the Arak region of Iran overnight.

Adraee stated, ''Construction of the reactor began in 1997 but was never completed due to international pressure. In recent years, the Iranian regime had worked to convert the facility into a reactor capable of producing plutonium. However, Iran deliberately avoided completing the conversion to use it as leverage against the West.''

Adraee added that the strike aimed to prevent Iran from acquiring the capability to activate the reactor.
