Bloomberg: Kuwait declares force majeure on oil shipments amid Hormuz closure

Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing a document, that Kuwait has declared force majeure on shipments of crude oil and refined products after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz prevented some vessels from entering the Gulf, disrupting its ability to meet certain customer commitments.

According to the report, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation informed clients on Friday that it would activate a contractual clause allowing it to suspend scheduled deliveries.

Bloomberg added that the decision is not expected to result in a complete halt of supplies.

Reuters said it has not yet been able to independently verify the report.
