Lebanon part of any potential US-Iran ceasefire agreement, Berri says citing Araghchi

Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri said relations between him, the presidency, and the prime minister are strong and essential to maintaining stability.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Berri said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi “confirmed to us that Lebanon is part of any agreement with Washington to reach a ceasefire,” expressing hope that U.S.-Iran negotiations will soon reach a positive conclusion.

In the same context, Berri said Israel has violated the cessation of hostilities agreement despite Hezbollah’s commitment to it.

He stressed that any Lebanese agreement with Israel would require guarantees, saying it does not adhere to its commitments.

Berri added that Lebanon is relying on internal unity and Arab backing under the current circumstances.
