President Aoun reviews IMEC progress, says Lebanon ready to engage

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with the Special Envoy of the French President for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), Gérard Mestrallet, to review progress on the initiative and its evolving scope.

According to the presidency, the talks covered the stages IMEC has reached, the development of the corridor’s concept, and its objectives in boosting trade connectivity, infrastructure development, and energy and digital links between India, regional countries, and Europe.

Discussions also addressed the current push to diversify routes and strengthen resilience in response to shifting geopolitical conditions.

President Aoun affirmed Lebanon’s readiness to engage within the framework of the corridor in a way that serves national interests and reinforces the country’s logistical role in the region.
