Russia, Iran leaders meet in China, the Kremlin says

Russian President Vladimir Putin met his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of a regional summit in China on Monday, the Kremlin said.

The pair are expected to discuss Iran's nuclear program, with Russia having publicly backed its ally after Britain, France, and Germany said last week they would reimpose sanctions over Tehran's non-compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal.
