Turkey tells Iran negotiations are necessary to end regional tensions

A source at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday the need to hold talks to resolve current regional tensions.

A separate Turkish diplomatic source added that Ankara is also in contact with U.S. officials, amid President Donald Trump’s threats of intervention in Iran in the context of ongoing protests there.
