Germany summons Iranian ambassador, demands end to protest crackdown: Foreign ministry

The German foreign ministry said Tuesday it had summoned Iran's ambassador in Berlin and urged the Iranian government to "end the violence against its own citizens" amid widespread protests.

"The Iranian regime's brutal crackdown on its own population is shocking," the ministry said in a statement on X, adding that "the Iranian ambassador was summoned to the foreign ministry today."
