Iran summons Italy’s ambassador over efforts to designate IRGC as a terrorist organization

Iran’s foreign ministry summoned Italy’s ambassador on Tuesday over Rome’s efforts to push for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to be added to the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations, according to Iranian state media.

The reports said Tehran warned of “serious consequences” if such a designation were to proceed, and urged Italy’s foreign minister to “correct his ill-considered approach toward Iran.”
